2007 News Archive 12/17/07 - Meeting at the Hollywood had GREAT Turnout!!! What a night at the Hollywood Bar! We had well over 45 members plus a few new sign ups. Jim Leeuw loaned our club $1000.00!! Thank You Jim! Diane Loveland took over as Groomer Schedule Coordinator. Trail Grooming has been happening about once every other day. Groomer Operators report excellent trail conditions. I tip my hat to all of the Groomer Operators. It is no picnic, running the Groomer. Thank you to everyone who helps make this Club run! - Ron Loveland Jr.
12/15/07 - System promises lots of SNOW! Groomers Running! A Weather System is blowing in from the South West, promising to bring lots of snow. Right now it is snowing hard and we are in the 2-5 inch zone, the radar looks like we will get more. Both of the Groomers will be running this evening, making for smooooooth riding on Sunday. 12/07/07 - First Complete Trail Grooming!!! Woooo Hoooo!!!!! The Missaukee Trail Blazers, GROOMED the Trail System End to End for the First Time this Season! It was a lot of hard work, but it paid off. I rode the trails on Saturday and they were very nice for conditions! See the Trail Reports page for some pictures! - Ron Loveland Jr.
12/03/07 - Groomer Operator Training Meeting The training meeting put on by Keith Lounsbery and Al Green at Bill Morey's house was a success. We had a great turnout and a lot of information was passed along to our new groomer operators. - Ron Loveland Jr.
10/29/07 - Trail Brushing Moving Along Nicely! Everyone arrived at 8:00AM Saturday, October 27th for breakfast at Bill & Melanie Morey's Home. Melanie made a wonderful breakfast and afterwards we started brushing the trails. A lot got done, however there is still more to do. Thanks to all that came out and helped. 10/24/07 - Groomer Operator Meeting Successfull!! President Bill Morey led the Groomer Operator Meeting on Wednesday Night. Over 20 people showed up for the meeting. Keith took everyone's information and is now going to create a groomer schedule for the club. Al Green spoke and gave us all a lot of information on grooming. He also stated that we would be getting our groomers next week!! Lets all hope so! Also, everyone at the meeting was able to meet Junior Hunt. He is allowing us the use of his land on Burkett Road to store and park the groomers. It was a great meeting. 10/17/07 - Groomer Operator Meeting Called!! President Bill Morey has called a Groomer Operator Meeting. Anyone who wants to be a groomer operator needs to attend this meeting. There will be lots of informative and necessary information, so a pen and note pad will be required. If you can not attend and would still like to be a groomer operator, please email Bill Morey. - Ron Loveland Jr.
10/15/07 - Trail Brushing & Signing Approved! At the Monday night meeting, President Bill Morey informed the club the D.N.R. has had a change of heart on our Brushing and Signing Project. We are APPROVED! So if you are reading this, and you did not make it to the October meeting, and you signed up for a section of trail at the September meeting, please email Bill Morey so you can sign the work release form and start working on the trails. Also, we still need more people to work on the trails. If you have not signed up yet, please email Bill Morey if you can help the cause. - Ron Loveland Jr.
08/29/07 - D.N.R. Cancels Trail Clean Up Day!!! The trail cleanup day scheduled for September 8, 2007 has been cancelled until further notice. Bill Morey contacted the D.N.R. in Lansing to get final approval for our cleanup efforts. The "Big Wigs" in Lansing told Bill, "DO NOTHING UNTIL THE GRANT IS FINAL". 08/20/07 - State of Michigan HOLDS Snowmobile Club Funds! Bill Lucas from MSA joined our club meeting this evening, with some rather bad news. It seems the State of Michigan has put the money set aside for Snowmobile Clubs into the General Fund and is now withholding it from the Clubs for an unspecified amount of time. Our new groomer seems to be in jeopardy. Bill is working on getting us a groomer from another club through an acquisition. More information as it becomes available. - Ron Loveland Jr.
